Ever since I’ve moved out to this new house, there is this cat who always waits by the door and greets us whenever we come back to our place. And when we try to open the door it would always make an attempt to follow us inside. Now it is a dirty cat I’m sure - because stray animals tend to rumble through rubbishes or make a toilet without being properly washed - so we never allowed the cat to come into the house.
The thing is this cat never gives up on its conquest to get into our place. Whenever it did make it in, it would straight head to the nearest couch and lie on its back like it knows and has lived in the place forever. Naturally, we would take it out again so it doesn’t contaminate our place with whatever disease it may have.
So this one night, last night to be precise, I got home from handing over my assignment to the lecturer and, as usual, this cat was waiting in front of our town villa. Out of pity and feeling kinda lonely and jaded, I let it in. I was playing with it. It was really adorable. The little fella is like a spoiled house kitten whose been with us for so long.
As I was playing with it I thought to myself that I might just give it a name (the gender of the cat is still a mystery to me as I can’t be bothered to check). So I decided to name it Jameson. I don’t know why I named the cat after my high school maths teacher. It’s probably because when I was playing with the cat, I remembered that Mr. Jameson would always say this whenever he is about to make a presentation in front of the class, “Let me put on my glasses, so I can hear you guys”. It always gave me a smile every time I hear that even when it got redundant after a while.
So here it is… Meet Jameson.
